Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art

The 2010 Pawleys Island Festival of Music and Art will be held September 21 – October 3. This year marks the 20^th anniversary of the Festival that was founded by Dr. Lee Minton in 1991. The 20^th Annual celebration will kick off with the coveted Wine Gala fundraiser on Friday, September 24, followed by 2 weeks of both visual and performing arts from across the nation. Headlining the Festival this year will be Steve March Torme, son of legendary jazz vocalist Mel Torme. Other acts include Cool John Ferguson, Marco Sartor, Judy Carmichael and the Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. Also, this year the Festival introduces a taste of Visual Arts. A Film Festival held in conjunction with Coastal Carolina University, Chalk Under the Oaks, with a workshop by renowned street artist, Lee Jones, as well as a Gallery Crawl featuring trolley rides to area galleries are some of the Visual Art highlights. The finale will be held Sunday, October 3 featuring the Grand Strand Theatrical Youth Players. Children and adults of all ages will delight in this exciting and memorable performance.
